History and Experience

Before starting the practice, James spent the formative and early part of his career in medium to large scale architectural offices, taking responsibility for the running of medium to high value residential and commercial projects. James’s strength has always been seen to be his all-round ability to not only produce creative designs but also to bring an understanding of practical issues into the design process. His extensive experience of project management is also a valuable asset.

Personal Service

As a small practice, we pride ourselves on our personal service combined with big practice experience and aspirations. We can provide a full architectural service beginning with your requirements and expectations, agreeing the brief, sketch design approval, providing drawings for planning applications, attaining building permit approval, issuing full construction drawings for tender to an approved contractor and managing the construction project on site. Alternatively we offer all services individually should you so require.

We also have considerable international experience in designing architectural high end residential housing and dealing with AIA contracts if you have aspirations to begin a project in Bermuda or the Caribbean.

We have found Jar Architecture to be an innovative, resourceful and highly skilled private architecture practice, with the ability to overcome and resolve problems as they arise both at the planning stage of a project and also on site with the appointed contractors. The liaison between client, contractor and planning authority is excellent, well informed and productive.
