The home, a previously converted flour mill still lacked sufficient living space. Therefore, an extension with a new entrance and lounge would really enhance the existing environment.
Given the age of the building, it was imperative to come up with a well thought out architectural design – with meticulous detail. The extension had to be seamless, preserving its character, replicating existing features, ensuring it blends into the original building. One way this was achieved this was by removing original stone from the ground to use on the exterior. This further complimented traditional architecture in the area.
The practical and beautiful extension has injected a new lease of life into the old building, and undoubtedly increased its value.
