Architectural Technologist

Join an established, design-led practice with a 10-year track record of steady, organic growth. We deliver a diverse portfolio of work ranging from bespoke residential renovations and one-off new builds to small housing developments and commercial/industrial schemes.

We are looking for a capable, proactive Technologist who can take ownership of projects from initial concept through technical delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects across all RIBA work stages, from scheme inception to practical completion.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage statutory Planning and Building Regulations applications.
  • Produce robust technical drawing packages, detailed construction detailing, and NBS specifications.
  • Manage project timelines, delivery programmes, and key milestones.
  • Administer building contracts (primarily JCT suites), including conducting site inspections, issuing valuations, and managing on-site instructions.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, planning officers, structural engineers, and contractors.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications: Relevant technical qualification (Degree, HND, or HNC in Architectural Technology or related discipline). MCIAT or working towards accreditation is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in a similar technical role, ideally within a small-to-medium-sized practice.
  • Software: High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Familiarity with NBS Chorus/Specification software is a plus (training provided).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of current UK Building Regulations, statutory compliance, and construction detailing.
  • Contract Awareness: Practical exposure to JCT contract administration and site monitoring.
  • Attributes: Proven ability to run multiple schemes simultaneously with minimal supervision and strong communication skills.
