James Roobottom // Managing Director

James established the practice in 2011 after many years of working for large practices designing high end residential and commercial architecture in various countries and counties.

Originally from North Wales he graduated and remained working in the Leeds/Huddersfield area, mainly working on Audi and Mercedes car show rooms and apartment buildings.  He briefly moved back to North Wales where he worked on the Deganwy Quay development and some other notable apartment buildings before he was offered a job in Bermuda.

Bermuda was certainly a different environment, being an island in the Atlantic ocean there were some idiosyncrasies that were unique to Bermuda.  It was an incredibly beautiful place to work and he was involved in numerous high end residential projects out there. He does still keep in touch as there are some projects on the horizon.

James is now responsible for the day to day running of the practice and has a keen interest in Retrofit and Passivhaus builds.  James is involved from conception through to completion and monitoring projects on site. His knowledge is invaluable having been involved in thousands of construction projects over the years.  James noted it seems to be getting easier and easier to produce pretty pictures with software and AI, but no one seems to have made it any easier to detail, project manage and deliver the building, this takes years of experience.

When not working he likes to spend time with the family on the water.
