Dinas Dinlle - New facilities building
JAR were engaged to design a new facilities block for guests which would incorporate a new laundry, washing station, seating areas and toilets. The caravan park is located on the wind-swept beach of Dinas Dinlle on the Llyn Peninsula. The client wanted a more contemporary and modern looking facility that matched the parks branding and image.
The new facilities hub is strategically located within the park, ensuring easy access for all visitors. We have meticulously planned every detail to ensure the space is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The hub features modern, well-appointed toilets, designed with comfort and cleanliness as priorities. These facilities are spacious, easy to maintain, and constructed with durable materials that stand up to heavy use while retaining their polished look. The hub also features a welcoming seating area, where visitors can relax and unwind, fostering a sense of community and connection among park guests.
Sustainability is at the core of our design. The hub is equipped with solar panels and battery storage, harnessing renewable energy to power the facilities efficiently. This not only reduces the environmental impact of the building but also aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly solutions in the tourism industry. The use of solar energy is a key element in our commitment to creating buildings that are both functional and sustainable. With the building having a number of dryers, it was essentially we looked at getting the building to produce more energy than it uses.
Beyond the architectural design, we have gone a step further to enhance the park’s natural environment. Understanding the importance of biodiversity, we have created a wildlife pond, which serves as a vital habitat for local species, contributing to the ecological richness of the area. Alongside the pond, we have installed a bug hotel, offering a sanctuary for various insects, which in turn supports the broader ecosystem. Our landscaping approach throughout the site prioritizes biodiversity, with a careful selection of native plants and habitats that encourage wildlife to thrive.
